Also known as Common Sage, Dalmation Sage, and Garden Sage, this is a food-grade oil from the traditional culinary and medicinal sage. Its Latin name derives from "salvation", as it has been used for its therapeutic qualities since ancient times.
Used extensively in natural perfumery and sacred oils, sage is reputed to aid in sharper memory and cognitive enhancement. It has a cooling, drying effect, used for conditions which are exacerbated by excess moisture, and for painful menstruation. Because it helps regulate sebum, sage oil has a balancing effect when used for care of all skin types.
