Orris (Iris Root) absolute oil

Orris absolute is the organic extraction of the rhizomes of two kinds of Morrocan iris flowers, Iris pallida and Iris florentina. The properly matured roots are distilled into Orris butter, and the pure concentrated Irone compounds are extracted for the most intense "violet" floral scent and flavor.

The scent is a very powdery floral, a sweet base note, with strong violet and pleasant woody-green tones. Orris oil is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiseptic, making it excellent in applications for wounded or irritated skin.
