Siam Wood essential oil

Siam Wood essential oil is steam distilled from the heartwood of Fokienia hodginsii grown in the alpine forests of northern Vietnam.

This towering evergreen conifer is a single-species genus that is known by many names; Fokienia, Bois de Siam, Coffin Wood, Fujian Cypress, Fu jian bai, and Pemou. The aromatic quality of the heartwood peaks as the tree reaches maturity at over 80 feet tall, and the precious wood is sustainably harvested. Used for making caskets and jewelry boxes, this insect-repellent wood was believed to bring eternal life.

Rich in antioxidants, with cleansing and hydrating properties, it has wide uses in rejuvenating skin care and blemish treatments, and to maintain softness and lustrous volume when used in hair care.

Siam Wood is used in aromatherapy for its grounding and soothing properties, for meditation and sleep, peaceful relaxation, mental clarity, and easing anxiety and tension.

A fixative and base note, the scent is warm, balsamic-woody, sensuous, like a mix of sandalwood, rosewood, and cypress. Very fine addition to perfumes, cosmetics, aromatherapy blends, and incense.
