Gardenia absolute oil, Gardenia jasminoides, organically extracted from blossoms grown in India.

Gardenia is an incredibly sweet floral scent, deeply feminine. While it is rich to the point of intoxicating, it is also so soft that you never tire of smelling it. To obtain the finest complex scent and retain the highest concentration of essential oil, this delicate flower is hand-picked for processing very early in the morning before the sun rises. 

In perfumes and aromatherapy, Gardenia is considered an aphrodisiac, and is used to relieve anxiety, irritability, and depression. It is also reputed to correct menopausal hormone imbalances which lead to tension, headaches, depression, and insomnia.

It is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and eases muscle spasms. Gardenia oil is used in Asia during labor and delivery for the dual purpose of stimulating contractions while also easing pain during birth (not a contradiction, since deep relaxation promotes oxytocin).
