Manuka essential oil organic

Pure Manuka essential oil, organically steam-distilled from the leaves and twigs of flowering Leptospermum scoparium, the East Cape "New Zealand tea tree" shrub. 

There are three varieties of Manuka that are loosely called New Zealand tea tree, none of which are related to the well-known Australian tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). One of them is by far the most medicinal and therapeutic, this East Cape variety, which is rich in triketones. 

Manuka is a very versatile therapeutic oil, excellent for soothing many skin problems because of its anti-inflammatory properties, especially insect bites and sunburn. It also has broad-spectrum antifungal, antibacterial, and anitviral properties. Research indicates many more medicinal uses for this traditional Maori remedy. 

The scent is much more pleasant than you would expect from a strong medicinal type oil, because Manuka also contains compounds found in favorite citrus and floral oils.
