Spruce Sitka Icelandic essential oil

This Sitka Spruce essential oil is steam distilled from the needles of Picea sitchensis trees growing in the clean, fertile environment of Iceland.

This tree is a beautiful evergreen conifer, the tallest spruce species at over 300 feet high, and one of the largest conifers in the world. It often lives over 700 years. 

The scent of this oil is a top-to-middle note, very clean, bright and penetrating, but also almost perfume-sweet. Fabulous as a diffused air freshener, this oil is both balancing and soothing while also being stimulating and clarifying, often used as a strengthening element in aromatherapy. The lovely scent is thought to enhance libido.

The effects of Sitka Spruce on skin are similar, being very balancing for skin and scalp so that it prevents both dryness and excess oiliness. Antioxidant and antimicrobial, it is often used for easing wrinkles, keeping burns and cuts clean, and for soothing inflammatory conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
